PERSONALITY: Nico is a strong willed and a bit of a hot headed colt. He can frustrated at times, but with time and patience, he learns to calm down and take a minute to breathe. He thinks he knows everything, so he does not like to be corrected and told otherwise. He is very high strung, and is full of energy. He can run for miles if he really wanted to. He has to be in charge of everything, and does not like to lose control of a situation. But he does not freak out if he loses control, he just fights with all of his might to regain the control. He is basically the boss around the stables, and he gets most of that from his mother. He does not care about how old, or young he is, he has to be in charge no matter what. He is known to be a bit unpredictable at times, but requires his riders and the people and horses around him to have to be very alert and ready for anything. He is definitely one of the strong willed horses around the barn.
RACING STYLE: He breaks really well and knows how to navigate around other horses to get to his favorite position. Nico likes to start well and settle in behind the leaders. He does well in mid pack too, and usually prefers to be against the rail or on the outside. He is fine with dirt in his face, and works well through tough situations. Once he is settled in behind the leaders, he takes his time and makes up his own pace no matter how fast the leader or leaders are going. He likes to be third or fourth, and take his time before making his final move. He has the power and stamina to just straight out bolt towards the end of the race and leave the leaders and the rest of the field in his dust.
HISTORY: He does not have much of a history yet because he is so young. But his sire is a HOF horse who won many big races such as the Breeder's Cup Mile, Breeder's Cup Turf, Dream Cup, and the Seaspray Cup. He was known to be very high strung and a little bit unpredictable, something of which Nico strongly inherited. While his dam is an accomplished grade one. She also participated in a few Steeplechase races and did very well in them. Both horses were great on dirt and his sire excelled on both surfaces. He has the pedigree and strength to become the best of the best.
