PERSONALITY: Afterglow is most like her mother. She can get easily ill-tempered around the barn if not exercised or entertained. But when entertained she is very sweet and lovable, always looking for treats. She does love other horses, but tends to be pushy with her leadership. Since she is the alpha filly and will not hesitate to show the other horses who's boss, so most horses choose to stay away from her. She likes being in control of situations, and usually does not like to lose that control. On the track she can get very excited and slams constantly into her pony. Most of the time she has to be kept farther away from the other horses because not all of them agree with her being alpha. She can get jumpy when in the gate, but is mostly calm and quiet. On the track she responds well and listens fabulously to all your commands. It's harder to pull her up than most horses because she loves to run and usually fights. She does not like to lose, so she will everything she can to get across that finish line first. This is a filly you don't want to mess with.
RACING STYLE: Stormi works well in a lot of situations when racing. In a sprint, she enjoys being in the front or being a leader for most of the race and setting the quick pace. She has the speed and stamina to keep her lead and leave others in her dust. Most of the time, she does enjoy to be in the middle of the pack where most of the action occurs. She is quick and smart, so she can maneuver out of sticky situations when in the middle of the pack. In longer races, she can be a strong closer when she needs to. She works well with having dirt and mud thrown at her face, and she trusts her jockey to help pull her out of the way. She works well on any sort of dirt surface, whether its slippery mud, dry dirt, or just complete slop. She is very sure of her footing and can handle it all.
HISTORY: Afterglow's sire, Sweet Sugar Cane, was known for his impressive sprinting abilities. He won many major races such as the Unicorn Corn Colts, Grade One Winter Cup, and the Breeder's Cup Sprint. He has a really impressive race record and won twenty one of his seventy two races. Not only that, but once he was retired from racing, he became a very successful show horse, winning many of his classes and proving he can be trained in really everything. Afterglow's dam, Luscia, is known for producing stunning and accomplished offspring. She is the dam of Alluring Assault, who is currently an accomplished grade three racer, Vendetta, a grade one racer known for carrying on Luscia's vicious personality, Night Goddess, a prospect, and Spitting Image. All of these foals are by excellent sires, so a lot is expected out of them. Afterglow was bred to be the best of the best.
