PERSONALITY: Native is the alpha horse. He's the boss and no horse takes the title. He can be a brat in the barn. He's broken through his stall three times, while his wall had be repaired twice after he kicked it. He's not normally found with happy ears. He's attacked a few horses, while giving an almost fatal injury to the handler. Luckily he was saved as the handler was blamed to have been teasing him. He's a fierce competitor, never taking a loss lightly. He tends to be pretty feisty, and blows out very fast when starting. Once controlled, he's an easy runner and responds to your commands. If he's out there with a friend, he could care less, as long as he gets across the line first. Overall Native is a very competitive and aggresive horse.
HISTORY: Native has the early life of a normal young Thoroughbred. He was bought by Riverwood Acres when he was three, and started racing pretty quickly. His attitude was a bit hard to control at times, and made it difficult to keep up with his mood swings. Native started to really act up before races and became a bit of a hazard, but we pressed on, hopeful in finding a true race horse underneath all that toughness. Unfortunately his first race with us wasn't the best, and he acted no better for his next race. We began to worry, and soon thought that maybe racing wasn't the best for Native. We thought about putting him up for stud, but with his feisty attitude and only one win under his belt, we thought it best to retire him with Raven. We tried for a long time to work with him as a lesson or show horse, but he proved a true wild horse, and keeping a bit on his tongue just kept making him worse. Settled Down Meadows is the perfect place for him.
